Ping iDi Hybrid Driving Iron
43468
Regular price £269.00The iDi represents a significant advancement in driving iron and long-iron performance, providing skilled golfers with three loft options to accommodate their desired distance and trajectory. This flexibility allows players to select the perfect club to match their playing style and course conditions.
The loft selections are optimised for optimal launch and spin for the 2, 3, and 4 irons. The club features a thinner, forged maraging steel face that flexes to amplify ball speed and distance. The 2 iron serves as a traditional driving iron, producing low launch and spin, whereas the 3 iron (featuring mid launch and spin) can act as either a driving iron or a long-iron replacement. The 4 iron is designed for higher launch with increased spin, facilitating easier green holding and is also suggested as a long iron alternative.
Constructed from 17-4 stainless steel, the head of the iDi is broader from front to back and shallower, resulting in a 15% increase in Moment of Inertia (MOI) during high and low impacts. This design innovation accommodates the new inR-Air technology, which incorporates a pocket of air in the clubhead that dampens sound and enhances feel. With a covered cavity and an i-Beam structure, vibration is effectively minimised, leading to a more comfortable play experience. Additionally, the iDi is slightly shorter from heel to toe, promoting easier turnover during shots. To further refine control, each iDi measures approximately 1/4" shorter and features a 1° flatter lie angle. The fixed hosel supports all 10 PING colour codes, with both standard and Power and Retro spec lofts available for customization.
To advance turf interaction, the iDi has been engineered with increased bounce, a rounded leading edge, and enhanced sole camber, ensuring optimal performance on the course.
