The i540 iron is designed to incorporate advanced innovations that will significantly lower your scores. With its enhanced weight-saving design, including a lighter and shallower face coupled with a covered cavity, this iron features strategically placed tungsten weighting in the sole of the 4-7 irons. This crucial modification effectively lowers the centre of gravity (CG), which in turn boosts ball speed and achieves a higher launch angle for superior stopping power.
The forged, variable-thickness maraging-steel face has been refined to be 9% thinner, allowing for greater flex and resulting in a metal-wood-like bending effect in the transition areas, namely the sole and top. This advancement translates into increased ball speeds and a higher maximum trajectory.
A standout feature of the i540 iron is the innovative inR-Air Technology. This patent-pending technology developed by PING employs an airbag strategically situated behind the face within the cavity. This design filters frequencies to enhance sound and feel at impact while allowing for unrestricted bending. The TPU insert has been meticulously selected for its capacity to maintain optimal pressurisation and has undergone rigorous testing across various conditions, including temperature, environmental factors, elevation, and air travel.
Furthermore, the introduction of i-Beam Technology in the i540 iron provides significant structural support to the 17-4 stainless steel body, amplifying sound and feel at impact. The metal-wood-like construction includes a beam that extends across the cavity, adding necessary structure to improve the overall feel during play.
Key Features:
- Tungsten weighting in the 4 to 7 irons lowers the CG of the i540 irons, resulting in enhanced ball speed, higher launch, and improved stopping power.
- The forged, variable-thickness maraging-steel face is 9% thinner for increased flexing, contributing to faster ball speeds and greater distance with a higher peak height.
- inR-Air Technology (internal airbag) creates a more appealing sound and feel at impact with the i540 iron.
- i-Beam Technology adds necessary structural support and plays a crucial role in the overall improved sound and feel of the i540 iron.

Notes
- These are design specifications that may vary due to manufacturing tolerances.
- Lie angle is based on Black Colour Code at standard length.
- Power Spec Loft is a fitting option for players aiming to boost their iron distance or reduce spin to achieve a desired trajectory window. The Power Spec is a custom loft configuration designed to deliver a performance enhancement without compromising the integrity of the club's design.
- Retro Spec Loft is an option for players who focus more on precision and achieving a higher trajectory rather than overall distance. This loft configuration allows for functional distance gaps suitable for a 3-wedge setup or more traditional loft specifications. Note that club bounce angles may vary if non-standard loft specifications are ordered.
- Standard swingweights for graphite-shafted clubs are 2 to 3 points lighter than depicted, contingent on shaft flex.
- Achievable swingweights depend on the chosen shaft and grip combinations.
- Available in both left- and right-handed models.
